In many ways, it was literally this clothesline at an airbnb I manage that is responsible for all of this. You see, my grade school years were the 70’s, and hanging laundry out to dry was the norm growing up.
This is a home I’ve been cleaning for four years, there are 9 beds in the house and everyone of them have a duvet so the blankets are always clean. Needless to say, this clothesline comes in handy for drying. 🌞
Regardless of the day I am having, what family drama I may be in the middle of, there is something special about being out there hanging linens to dry. It truly takes me to a happier & simpler time. 🥰
I genuinely feel blessed to live where I do, and just wanted to figure out how I could share it you know. How do you share a feeling???
It would be months of just ‘doing what I do’ out there, but always wondering how I could share this place with those who don’t have the opportunity to experience it as I do. Then one day I looked down and seen things differently. 🥲
I seen a pine cone and thought ‘what about that’, and then my eyes just started seeing the bark, the pine needle clusters that simply fall from the trees. It was if the forest was saying, ‘It’s all right here.’
At the risk of sound cliche’, it was all over from there.
I knew I wanted to create potpourri of some sort, and after that my memory is a bit blurry on how it unfolded. What I can say is I knew it was all meant to be because the business was creating itself.
For me, I see it as ‘a God thing’. 🙏 It has not been an easy 57 years thus far, lol. My background includes everything from long haul trucking and construction, to waitressing and cleaning houses. So to have this fire come out of nowhere, and the way it all fell into place despite a lack of knowledge only eight months ago, I see a miracle.
The home owner gave me persmission to forage her land, respectfully of course. 💝 The keepsake card idea was somehow born, a friend felt I should incorporate candles, and all of it was coming together faster than I could keep up. Literally.
The only thing that was missing for me was ‘the feeling’, I still hadn’t quite figured that out. That is when the gift box idea was born.
To incorporate all the products into a beautifully wrapped box that just makes people want to slow down and enjoy every little surprise.
It had to stay on brand with the mountain vibe, it had to include many textures and unexpexted moments, then shipped in a way that it just makes them excited from the moment they see the box. 🎁
Truly it is my gift to be part of something that make others happy, while eventually allowing me to stop working like I’m thirty. 😅
I thank you all for being here, and look forward to sharing some fun stories of what this journey has been, and continues to be.
